Sikh ecology in practice

EcoSikh Website is an international NGO based in Washington DC that was established in 2009. EcoSikh's mission "connects Sikh values, beliefs, and institutions to the most important environmental issues facing our world. We draw on the rich tradition of the Sikh Gurus and the Khalsa Panth to shape the behavior and outlook of Sikhs and the world, ensuring that our deep reverence for all creation remains a central part of the Sikh way of life." One major achievement has been the establishment of Sikh Environment Day on March 14 every year. In 2014 over 2000 Sikh organisations took part, worldwide.
