Windsor is the location for the ARC-UN celebration with the faiths in November 2009 when the faiths will commit to long term plans for the natural environment. |
Many Heavens One Earth - the ARC-UNDP celebration - is about to start at Windsor. We have migrated temporarily to our EVENT WEBSITE. Join us there for the latest news and stories.
The website provides detailed information about the Windsor celebration, including links to the latest news, press conference details, as well as the full programme spanning from 2-4 November 2009. It also offers logistical details for guests about accomodation and transport.
Representatives from many traditions within nine major faiths will take part in the celebration, hosted by ARC and the United Nations Development Programme, and will be attended by HRH The Prince Philip and the United Nations Secretary General, His Excellency Mr Ban Ki-moon.
The event is not open to the public however it will be followed by a major public event entitled here. Or please apply to Many Heavens, One Earth: Faiths, the Environment and Copenhagen. It will be held at the Friends Meeting House in Euston - a venue where Gandhi once spoke - and will feature senior representatives from the UNDP and a number of key faiths who are working on environment and climate change issues. There will also be Hindu dance, a reading of the Persian Conference of the Birds, as well as a new gospel piece by the Baltimore New Psalmists Choir based on the Anglo-Saxon poem Dream of the Rood imagining if the tree on which Christ died could speak. It is called That's What the Cross Would Say. Details of the performers can be found here.
Tickets to the public event are free but must be reserved. Reservations are open from late September. You can download more details here. Or please apply to www.quaker.org.uk.
