Vacant Position in ARC - Communications officer wanted

ARC is seeking to hire a consultant until May 2006 to be the Communications Officer. This person will coordinate ARC's communications work including radio, print and the website as well as work with faith communities to develop their own media strategy. The successful candidate must have experience of working in the media. They will need to be able to work with media networks, different cultures, have sympathy towards the faith communities and knowledge of current environmental issues.

Some managerial and fundraising experience is necessary. The post may lead on to a longer term commitment.

The position is based in Manchester though the person appointed could work from elsewhere in the UK. Remuneration is based on the standard consultant rate of £200 per day. A pro rata allocation of holidays based on ARC’s norm of 30 days per year will be provided and all agreed expenses will be covered. There is no pension scheme.
