Faith in Food Shortlisted for Prestigious Food Award

ARC’s Faith in Food has been shortlisted for The Guild of Food Writers' Derek Cooper Award for Campaigning and Investigative Food Writing.

Faith in Food, edited by Susie Weldon and Sue Campbell, is a comprehensive guide to ethical eating and an investigation of international approaches to food and agriculture. It was previously praised by the Sustainable Food Trust as one of their top ten books of last summer.

Previous winners of the prestigious Derek Cooper Award for Campaigning and Investigative Food Writing have included Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s Hugh’s Fish Fight and Jamie Oliver’s Jamie's Ministry of Food.

The winner will be announced on the 9th of June at The Guild of Food Writers’s Awards Ceremony, held at Opera Holland Park.

• Agriculture is the largest industry on the planet, employing more than one billion people worldwide and influencing the way half the world’s habitable land is cared for.

• Replacing red meat and dairy with vegetables one day a week would be the equivalent of driving 1,160 miles less per year, according to a 2007 Carnegie Mellon University study.
