ARC is sad to announce the death of President Kawai, MOA International

We regret to announce that one of the founders of ARC in 1995, President Kawai of MOA International died in Japan at the end of February.

President Kawai helped found ARC in 1995 and his organisation, MOA International, has been a vital supporter of ARC ever since.

President Kawai retired as a trustee of ARC in 2006.

At the launch of ARC at Windsor, President Kawai said that he and MOA were inspired by HRH The Prince Philip’s leadership in the field of religion and conservation, especially by the spirit of the Assisi meeting in 1985 which first brought religions and conservation groups together:

“To harness this spirit in specific plans means to enable the lives and roles of all living things – mountains, rivers, trees and grasses; birds, animals, fish, even insects – to be fulfilled to their greatest extent. This will then lead to ‘the healing of the earth’.”

We honour his contribution to ARC and to the many projects that MOA International has engaged with around the world and extend our condolences to his family and to the wider family of MOA International.
