The Municipality of the City of Trondheim, the Diocese of Nidaros, The Church of Norway and ARC are holding the second official international meeting of the Green Pilgrimage Network in the ancient holy city of Trondheim, Norway from 26-29 July 2013.

Some 90 secular and religious leaders are attending from China, Japan, India, Palestine, Israel, Mexico, Nigeria, Armenia and many European pilgrim places including Vadstena Sweden, St Albans, Norwich, Iona, Luss and Canterbury in the UK, Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

During the event there was an important historic announcement on the environment from the Confucian tradition in China.
Secular and religious decision-makers are having the opportunity to compare examples of best practice, and be helped to leverage their position as holy places to get more funding and energy dedicated to improving the environment and helping their millions of pilgrims to make positive rather than negative impacts on the earth.
The meeting, which is an invitation only event, includes participation on the final day in in Northern Europe’s largest pilgrimage gathering, the St Olav festival.
Timetable: Arrivals, July 25, 2013. Departures, July 29, 2013. The meeting includes attending the opening events of the St Olav’s festival on July 28.
