List of African commitments

The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church has around 43.5 million followers and 500,000 clergy. |
In September 2012, 25 faith groups from 11 countries in sub-Saharan Africa will launch their Long-Term Commitments for a Living Planet at ARC's Nairobi Celebration at the All Africa Conference of Churches' Desmond Tutu Conference Center.
See below for a full list of faith groups in each country and click on each link to read a summary of their plan. Another four faith groups are in the process of developing their plans, so we expect this list to grow.
Many Heavens One Earth Our Continent
Alternatively, to download a web version of the Many Heavens One Earth Our Continent book we have produced for the official launch of the plans on September 20, 2012, in Nairobi, Kenya, click here. It contains all of these plans plus photographs of the work our partners are doing, and inspiring quotations from Christian, Muslim and Hindu sacred texts. But be warned - it is around 120 pages long and a 6.2MB document!

“We commit to mobilise Christians from CPR member Churches to value more the land, to protect and manage it in a proper manner because we human beings were created out of the land, the soil; we live on it, get our livelihood from it and will return to the land as we depart from our present day existence” - Theological Charter on the Environment, Protestant Council of Churches of Rwanda |
